What did you learn?

Today you were given a choice of how to use your GPS. What did you choose to do? What did you learn?

  1. Today I decided to go out on to the football field so I could write something using the tracks function. I decided to write NUHS the length of the football field. I learned that when you are going to write something using the track function it is best to have a plan of what you are going to write and how you are going to write each letter. If you don’t think of those things ahead of time your letters can come out looking no so great.

  2. I wrote my name on the football field in regular english, not that curly cursive, unholy type. Regular english, A B C D E ... that stuff.
I learned that you could overlap different saved waymarks or tracks on the map.

  3. Taylor and I both hide a little trinket outside and then met back at the stairs and traded gps's. Then we went and found each others item. I learned that you have to be very careful when creating your waypoint because it is very imporatant for the other person to find your item.

  4. I learned how to calculate the distance by the GPS. I walked from the entrance of the PLS parking lot, and make a way out of it for assume how far(distance) will I have wasted if I accidentally turn into the wrong Parking lot.
The answer is 1.8 miles if all the lots were full.

  5. Both me and Terry wrote words using the tracks. It is a good idea to know where you are going and if you want to do something with the tracks before you use it. You also should probably turn the track on and off while using if you are trying to write something so it doesnt look so bad.I also learned that it tells you the exact distance you travel and the sea level you are at.

  6. Emmett and I hid a small cube that we each had and then marked the point where we hid it, then met back at our original point, traded gps's and then went to go find eachother's hidden cube. I learned that you need to be very specific and careful of where you mark your point because even if your a little of you could throw the person looking for your item off. So when marking a point it needs to be in the EXACT spot you choose.
