Map Projection

Discuss two points from the lesson on map projections (class 10/23) that you found interesting.

    I found that it was interesting that there are 3 different kinds of projections and each one will project a map in a different way. I also found it interesting that when using a one of the projections you can make countries look bigger then they really are compared to other countries.

    If you want to look at the Poles of the world you can choose a different type of persepective to view it from which allows you to see the areas you want to see better. Also I learned that back in the day that they use to make their maps out of wood and they were very hard to transport.

    Two things i found interesting from the lesson today on map prjections was that globes were very hard to come by back in the day and they were hard to make. Another thing i thought was interesting was that there are 3 different kinds of projections.

    One thing I found interesting about map making is that for different types of maps there are certain kind of maps you use to get a clear get what your trying to map the best view. I also learned that globes where the best option for showing the world because it is very similar to the actual features of earth.

    That different countries use different time zones, vote on what time zones to use and completely reject time zones altogether.
    And that people found out way too many ways to map the world...you'd think old geezers back in the day would be busy avoiding plagues and filling their spare time with witch burning.

    We can choose to watch the latitude and longitude from different angles.
    With latitude and longitude, you can do anything.
    Watching the coordinates from different angles is really cool

    And that there needs to be four elements in a map to make it a map.
    Graticules
    Developable surfaces
    Light source
    Orientation
